Our political system is well broken! The wealthy control the process! Now, even when we are going under the financial dictatorship of the Communist Chinese due to the wealthy in the U.S. not taking responsibility and providing our own way as a nation by paying their due taxes, their is no one who can call it on them politically. What do they think is going to happen if and or when the U.S. Government goes flat-busted-broke? What kind of nation will they be living in then? It won't be livable for anyone then!
To be elected to the U.S. Senate one must be connected and at the beck of many millionaires & billionaires. So we see the Senate yesterday refused to vote on rescinding the Bush Tax Breaks for the Rich. Their fabricated excuse was that it would hurt the economy to not give this money to the rich. The economy has gone down steadily since Bush, with this 'freebie for the posh' in place, so that is a lie from the pit! The only reason for our putrefying economy is the National Debt, which this present tax-structure multiplies! Are the Poor going to retire the debt?
While many Americans are homeless and fourteen percent below the poverty line, I can't see for the life of me why after being blessed these people hate their country enough and have so much personal greed to not desire to pay their fair share for the maintenance of Our Nation.
A nation with a large divide materially, will not stand! The wealthy must take up the slack now as we cut the unnecessary waste in government, and then we must phase out the hated progressive income tax and all regressive sales-taxes, as we phase in the proportional income tax which carries exemptions for none, even the poor.
