The Logical College Football Playoff Plan

We need a four team playoff for Division I-A Football. Those with the best won-lost record, and seeded according to strength of schedule. One final game at the end of the Bowls would leave no doubt as to who actually is the College Football Champion.

Copenhagen Climate Conference

Under the U.N.’s CDM - Clean Development Mechanism, which lists the U.S. as an Industrial nation. China is not on this same list, called the Annex 1 countries, which I find odd, considering most all consumer goods bought by the Citizens of the United States are manufactured in China. In fact, China overtook the U.S. as the largest Carbon polluter nation in the world as of 2006. It's an erroneous belief that China is a poor country, while the U.S. is rich. It is ridiculous that The United States and other nations are supposedly to “foot the bill” for China to change over to less polluting systems, when we are the ones in debt to them already up to our eyeballs. They can certainly finance their own changeover! If we think, as the United States that we are sparing as equals in this forum, then we really ought to back off before we come out of this with two black eyes. So far our Congress has done right, by not going along with this U.N. nonsense. China is not only trying to suck in free money, but also clean energy technology transfer. Their track record in respecting intellectual-property rights is dismal. Are we going to let China put the U.S. in its back pocket on this?

Is It Time To Do Something Yet ? -- Gee, I don't know.....

Heads need to Roll! We will never make a clean break with these National Embarrassments, like the recent massacre of soldiers by a soldier on an Army Post, until people are held accountable and punished for NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE. In this case inside the intelligence Community & the Defense Department who were given ALL THE WARNING SIGNS! Investigations by the Senate are only 'Show-Time'. Nothing ever came of the Abu Ghraib debacle. Some of us Americans knew from the beginning, that what's called 'Political Correctness', is only so much nonsense. Some within our American culture feel that Punishment hurts peoples feelings, and we shouldn't do anything to ruffle the GUILTY. If that's what you believe, then THINK again.

Public Sponsored Election Campaigns

State Sponsored Election Campaigns: This analysis and explanation of the proposal to create in the United States, by way of the States initiating reforms, and by the Federal Government gradually instituting changes, whereby Candidates for any Public Office or, Pro and Con Coalitions on Ballot Measures, may address the voters within an equal and open format, with the Government picking up the tab, not the individuals. This would be the beginning of a shift away from private money dominated politics as we have known it. This would be a way of sharing the very high costs and actually lowering them. The constant escalation of special interests competing for the vote of our Representatives has sent the costs of entering public office into the stratosphere. It seems that the day of the Citizen-Statesman is lost forever, unless we make some drastic changes. One has to be considered as a Professional Politician to run, which is unfair to ordinary lower-income persons and their concerns, who want to see changes in their situations, but have not the knowledge to come by the amount of money needed to politically advertise and get their voice heard or their image seen. The one with the most money and can compete on that level gets the advertising space that’s for sale. The long time journalist Walter Cronkite once said in an interview on the NewsHour program, “We simply have to take American democracy off the auction block,"[1] Today, the voters have very few resources to find out about the candidates’ positions, unless they dig around for it, and only a small minority of citizens do that. I would say, possibly an elemental amount of information is often available at the average citizens level to discern the two major parties Presidential and U.S. Senate candidates’ positions, however it takes effort to come by information for all other offices down through very local, for the primary elections, and for other party and independent candidates. Many times, unless it is a highly debated referendum, voters may be doing a first-time speedy read-through of ballot measures at the polling place. The reason for low-voter turnout begins to become clear, and the lack of fresh ideas that the voters are aware of, plays to the incumbent’s advantage. Many candidates will not divulge their true positions; rather they put some ‘half-baked’, ‘Slick’, TV commercial out that may barely take a stand one way or the other. The People are not getting enough accurate information before voting. So we find that our democratic republic requires not those with the best ideas for a successful society be placed in authority, but those that first have the best skills at ‘buying and selling’ access within the halls of decision-making. This exemplifies the long common struggle between the many and the few! The many have to regain as much power ever so often by whatever means to thwart the consolidation of an aristocracy. This proposal would provide an ‘alternative’ to the ‘selling’ of political advertising. It is a voluntary resource to those wishing to participate, and does not ban private political advertising. It would be available to all equally, of those who are on the ballot, by ordinance and operation of the government. Since there would be no competitiveness involved, as the government would be the ‘supplier’ of the advertising they are all sharing in, each would be able to make their points and stances unpressured. The prices and cost of bringing forward a candidacy or measure would drop. More voices would be able to be heard effectively. When more people begin getting their information through the Sponsored Medias, than by the current flash-advertising, the monopoly of moneyed politics will begin to crack. The decisions would be left in the hands of the People, not the Corporations or PACs as to the direction and outcome of elections. The need for simple, accurate information for the voters has always been there. Abraham Lincoln said, “I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is bring them the real facts.” Quoting Thomas Jefferson, “I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power.”[2] And again from the words of James Madison, "A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy, or perhaps both."[3] Those that are benefitting from this current system, want to placate the citizens that are being closed out of the ‘Marketplace ‘ of elective office, so they’ve come up with a solution which will still leave the most money-connected still entrenched in power. It is commonly known as the ‘Clean Money’ system. That is, the giving of money to the deprived candidates by the government, so that they too may compete to a more limited degree in the ever widening spiral of frivolous political campaign seeking of funds and spending. This system will not solve the problem of ‘junk’ political advertising. We’ll never get down to the vital issues and who is presenting the solutions. It will not stop the bleeding of runaway costs in campaigning. Under the ‘Clean Elections’ concept,[4] the government gives the candidate a sum of money to use as he sees fit for his campaign. The candidate agrees not to seek or use any other monies. Under that system however, some wealthy candidates outspend the public-moneyed candidate and the state ends up giving more dollars to the public-funded candidate to make up the difference. Also there is nothing to stop the different Medias from raising the advertising rates at any time. As well, the ‘Clean Elections’ process puts a criteria and burden on the candidate to raise ‘some’ contributions in lieu of concentrating on ideas to solve problems. This is all much more expensive than having the government run the whole process, giving each candidate adequate coverage through the main media sources. The way to discourage overspending and level the playing field at the same time is to provide all the media that is needed to reach the voters for each candidate or referenda position, so that over time the big spenders on paid advertising will eventually stop, for realizing the voters are using the new system and that money is being wasted buying advertising. Free Speech infringement will never be an issue, as candidates or issues coalitions may still privately advertise. The Government Sponsorship of Campaigns will be a guarantee that ‘every voice will be heard’. The only ones that will not like this plan are the people making a living selling the advertising and the big money interests that have fairly much bought the elections in the past by monopolizing all the media and information going to voters. There may be an attempt to initially drown-out the Sponsorship Ads, through even heavier private advertising. The Natural Law Party of 1992-2004 was one group that advocated the Public-Sponsorship proposal. I, myself have always made these proposals during runs I’ve made for legislative positions. Many other Americans using the internet have expressed the same ideas in their writings.[5] Public Management of Election[6] is a name the South Koreans use for it. Other nations are further advance in it, than the U.S.. One may ask, if the entry to politics becomes equal to all regardless of wealth, wouldn’t the field be overcrowded with novice office seekers. The answer to that may be seen in the fact that maybe only ten percent of the population is somewhat interested in ‘politics’, and many races currently often only have one or two filing to run. Many general election contests in November are unopposed. If however the field applying to run would become too numerous for one ballot, the democratic and only fair settlement is to draw randomly fewer names to be put on the ballot for election. The lots would be drawn publicly and inside the district for which the candidates are seeking. That method is known as sortition, and was used to a greater extend by the ancient Greek democracies. A cross-section of citizens is assured, and those not randomly selected may be in the future, if they seek again to be elected. An attempt at reducing costs and equalizing campaigns involved an effort in the late nineties to induce the American broadcast Medias to voluntarily give free airtime to the candidates, however that approach met with predictable indifference, even though the time allotments requested were very meager and insufficient to adequately inform voters. Note, this concept also leaves a disparage in the quality of ads or message that candidates would be able to present. Newton Minow, a Former 1960’s Chairman of the FCC, who once said television “is a vast wasteland”, also said in a 2000 interview on PBS with Terence Smith, as a response to the free air time question, “I support that, but that's such a feeble effort. What we should do is go far beyond that. We should go to the British system where broadcast time for political candidates is not bought or sold, where it's provided as a public service. We've got a real irony here, Terry. We have politicians selling access to something all of us own -- our government. And then we have broadcasters selling access to something all of us own -- our airways. It's a terrible system.”[1] In a 2002 poll by Pew Research, only 11% of Americans were aware that radio & TV stations received and maintain their licenses free of charge from the government.[7] It would seem natural for nations like Britain to use the Government owned TV & Radio to provide free equal access to all candidates on the ballot. However, there are instances of Government owned Medias being mixed with power-grabbing corruption. For example the Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi is being scrutinized presently in regards to the State Television. Weather the United States moves in a direction of opening State-owned broadcasting or only ‘common-sense requirements of all media outlets’, there must be constitutional independent State Agencies or Departments to operate it. Similarity of Format must be maintained to give the sponsored messages equality. The Candidates and Groups would all have to be required to be filmed at the same government office locations, with the same personnel and circumstances with the same allotted time by office, and the candidates would say only what they choose. The tapes would be kept safe, and secret until all are aired together. No substitute commercials would be allowed at all! The channels would be within the main lineup for cable, satellite, over the air, and radio, and would run continuously in a loop for several weeks before the election. Also Complete Internet Sites with all the candidates positions listed would be publicized. In Conclusion, there are other problems with our Republic’s election system that need reform as well, such as equal ballot access which would be good to be worked out in conjunction with public sponsorship of campaigns or new directions to move into such as the great opportunities with internet democracy, however run-away spending on politics and equal venue is the most blaring fix needed now. Not This Time

I'm seeing the signs that Obama will try and re institute the Draft. This is a definite NO-GO as long as the rich man's son is deferred. Unless a draftee is enrolled in higher education, and making consistent progress at becoming a military officer upon graduation, he must return immediately and be entered in the military where needed most (conscientious objectors excluded) at the lowest appropriate rank. Otherwise riots and revolution.

Common Sense Nation

To save our almost bankrupt country billions & billions of dollars and assure that Citizens who really need help will be able to get it in the future, all of Social Security and Medicare must be means-tested! That is those who have no real money worries even if Social Security or Medicare didn't exist, will no longer receive such benefit but will be taxed for it the same way as everyone else.

Government by The People for The People

I think it is great that we are able to have a nation where we all join in the discussion, and by 'consensus' make the decisions that will be best for our posterity. We need never be in a hurry to make very important decisions affecting all of US. Join in the discussion, get your questions answered. Assure yourself that what is being told you is what will eventually come down the Pike. If there is a doubt, we needn't rush in. Let's See Clearly, and Be Wise!

Let's just provide healthcare for the Whole World, while we're at It

Apparently, we now learn that the '45-50 million people without healthcare' line the liberal-side has been feeding us, includes 'mostly' Mexican Citizens that have crossed into the United States Illegally. Well, the answer again is NO, don't Vote For That Mr.& Ms.Congressperson!
This is what has happened to California, the reason they are OUT of Money. They are spending on non-Citizens.
The best policy the United States of America can Do for all Mexican Citizens, is insist and enforce that the Mexican Government reform itself Democratically. Then Mexicans will want to live in Mexico where they have a say in their Government!!
If a child of Mexico was born in the U.S., give them documentation and those may return as full Citizens after they've turned eighteen. Otherwise seal-up the border, completely stop assimilation, and begin mass- deportations! At that point there will be jobs available for American Citizens and Our 'Unemployment Benefit' burden will be reduced, so we will not be in debt as much to the Chinese and Arabs.

DANGER! DANGER!

All the talk about health-care reform, is lulling the American People to sleep. There is a dark specter hiding within this push to put health-care for many many Americans under government control.
We soon are forgetting that in the middle of the 20th century, that Adolph Hitler's Germany, began murdering citizens in great numbers.
When life, death, and medical rationing are in the hands of bureaucrats, can we trust the proceeding administration, or the one after? Also we mustn't forget, that this current administration has heavy tries to liberal thinking organizations, such as 'planned parenthood', which was founded by persons with very similar aims as Mr. Hitler. Also, Obama in Oregon, March of last year said, "I am in favor of palliative medicine in circumstances where someone is terminally ill. ... I'm mindful of the legitimate interests of states to prevent a slide from palliative treatments into euthanasia. On the other hand, I think that the people of Oregon did a service for the country in recognizing that as the population gets older we've got to think about issues ... ".
Where is our president's policy formulation really headed??

WORTHY TO BE A GUARDIAN OF THE CONSTITUTION ????

  • Did I hear Right?
  • Judge Sotomayor said before the senate committee today:
  • The '2'nd Amendment, out of Our 10 Bill of Rights, is "NOT" a "FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT" ???
  • I'D CALL THAT A "MELTDOWN"
  • She also keeps backtracking, changing what she's said before. If she gets on the Court, we'd be 'stuck' with what she says first!!!
  • My opinion here makes no respect to either race or gender.

A New World by Information

Looking at the protests in Iran, it is more and more apparent that the world has reached a new milestone. With the communications explosion that has occurred within the last ten years, the world in practically every corner has witnessed the freedoms that come with a real Democracy. Citizens that have lived under any form of totalitarianism want Liberty for themselves and their children. I predict the time of dictators (such as in Iran) is quickly coming to an end, Worldwide. Democracy will soon be reaching full maturity!

Government Worth Living With

Any national government that regulates your religion is NOT worth having. Religion is a Individual matter. NO ONE can decide for ANYONE Else what's right & TRUE! Today, if you are reading this and live under such a government, Overthrow It. Bring It DOWN!

Fresh Take Over of Government Offices in Iran by The People

The mass of protesters in Tehran should now advance on the government buildings and take over. Then set up their own council, a democratic council. They should immediately schedule true elections nationwide! Other nations MUST stay out of Iran's internal struggle, and America should make this clear..

Major League Baseball

How to Improve & Reorganize Major League Baseball: #1 End DH Rule. In practice that rule elevates the Pitcher above all the other Positions on the Field, thus it is no longer a ‘team’ sport. The whole contest revolves around the pitching. If you have a better pitcher, you win the game period, there’s nothing intriguing about it. #2 Combine American & National Leagues into one. The new American National League (combine - overlay - redesign the logos into one). This is a New Era! The sub division of the 'American National League'(ANL) will be Divisions based and kept strictly on the longitude of the various Stadiums. No more than six teams in a division. Adding divisions as expansion occurs, and keeping teams in as equally numbered divisions as possible, east to west, and with team moves. A team will play those in their own division slightly more than all other clubs. Pacific Div. = SF Giants, SE Mariners, OA Athletics, LA Dodgers, LA Angles, SD Padres. Western Div. = AZ DiamonBs, CO Rockies, TE Rangers, HO Astros, KC Royals, MN Twins. Central Div. = SL Cardinals, ML Brewers, CH Cubs, CH White Sox, CI Reds, AT Braves. Eastern Div. = DE Tigers, TB Rays, CL Indians, FL Marlins, PI Pirates, TO BlueJays. Northeast Div. = WA Nationals, BA Orioles, PH Phillies, NY Yankees, NY Mets, BO Red Sox. With five division there are three wildcard slots, etc. #3 The current fan selection of all-stars is nothing but a farce!! The big cities can out-vote the smaller towns and get all their players selected. Popularity contests are not honoring the players! The players that are the Stat-Leaders in ‘every category’, offense and fielding, or pitching/catching, etc.,should be the All-Stars, by adding together the 2nd half(previous season since all-star game) & 1st half individual statistics. Real Baseball Fans will whole heartily go along with this! Those receiving the highest marks representing the Northern Cities(½ of total Clubs) and those of the Southernmost Cities, based on latitude of the Stadiums, will be All-Stars (throwback to the Civil War, when baseball was a momentary release for troops & citizens of the North & South). The highest finishing teams of the north & south cities from the previous season will supply the manager and coaches. The All-Star game will rotate from city to city through all the major league towns ‘in order’ (not as to who has the newest stadium. This is Fair.), starting with the cities where it has been absent longest, ie Tampa Bay Rays and so on,(expansion teams would have to jump in at the end of the line). However, it must alternate South city to North city. #4 World club championship: The American National League Champion every year should compete in a Real 'World' Series against the Champions from the other top professional Leagues-Worldwide. This makes more sense than ‘the world baseball classic’, which polls show the fans don’t like! They’d rather root for their own city- team, or any City Team from America competing against the Japanese Champ, and Pro Teams of Latin America, etc.. This is how Baseball was build in America! (Rooting for your local club) This is absolutely the best way to sell baseball worldwide! Please help get it started. Work through the MLB and the IBAF. The hardest part is starting anything, so after this season let’s get the invites out and have a New & Improved 'World' Series with the pro Japanese champion, the Korean champion, the best pro team champion of the Best Latin American League this year, and our Champ in a four-way elimination. Everyone can chip-in for the costs. It can be improved on and become more inclusive every year thereafter. Fans in the U.S. and Worldwide will LOVE IT!! This International Playoff Competition can be held, (in warm zones or weather-suited stadiums for November) where the previous years winner chooses and the organization agrees, like unto the international sailing cup competitions. Since Baseball was birthed in the U.S., the first year would be here. Eventually there may be a World All Star Game, and an Asian National League, Latin National League, European National League, etc.. #5 Effective Salary Caps and Parity between teams! Also, an allowance could be set for the amount of travel a particular team has over others. The Teams need to be on an equal footing. That’s fair for ‘all’ the Fans! #6 Would also like to see: go to non-splintering bat (to eliminate waste and for public & player safety) of metal or other substance that would be of equal weight of the woods and of the same resonance, thus producing the same distance/force hit with the same current swing. AS BASEBALL GOES - SO GOES AMERICA - WILL IT BE UNIFIED OR NOT? We can now tell after the several seasons of inter league play in Major League Baseball, that one league's (the American League) rules, which they play under, puts those teams at an advantage and the National League teams at a disadvantage when they meet. Even this season (2009) we see the American League teams again taking the larger share of victories during inter league play. (Is this fair during world-series games??) This doesn't mean that the DH rule makes a better baseball watching experience, it simply means that the use of that rule gives an advantage to those teams that have been playing under it by the time inter league ball comes around. In the National League which plays the tried & true standard baseball - no DH rule, the pitchers must take a turn at bat. They swing the bat, they run the bases. In the American League where the DH rule is in use, the pitchers just pitch and then sit down till the next inning. That difference alone gives the meeting of AL teams and NL teams, to the AL. The AL pitchers are rested, whereas the NL pitchers have made more exertions leading up to inter league play! After standing in the batters box, concentrating on hitting (which is the exact opposite of pitching) and base running, a pitchers stride is interrupted. Multiply that by the number of games leading up to inter league play and NL pitchers are less focused to a degree on their pitching (as they are part of the team and bat). It's not that the DH rule makes 'better' pitchers, it only means that operating under other conditions and rules creates a different game. Also, the AL teams will almost always do better in pinch hit situations, due to the fact that they already have players on the bench that have been batting regularly and exclusively as the designated hitter. Whereas a utility player and pinch hitter in the NL may have been sitting on the bench for two nights and more, possibly. All this doesn't mean that the use of the DH Rule makes for a better baseball game, it doesn't. If you are not interested in the intricacies and strategies of the original game, but only enjoy the superficial aspects of pitching & hitting, then the DH game is for you. However you might as well go out and just see a home-run derby and will enjoy it more. The pitcher is not more or less important than all the other positions and he should bat! We've grown to know that an Afro-American is not more or less important than an Italian-American emigrant. The Ball Diamond is an equalizer. From all walks of life we've met and played the game. Our Original American Game of Baseball is and has always been a 'Team Sport', where everybody gets their 'Ups', with nine players and nine innings per side. Whoever it was that introduced this tenth player, the designated hitter into our national pastime is Anti-American. Our Game as Our Nation must be Unified and be as ONE! Where EveryONE gets their UPs and we ALL take our LUMPs TOGETHER! The Senior Circuit has MAINTAINED: Regular Good Old American Baseball! From the days past ,This was the Original Game that brought Americans out to the BallParks. The DH Rule detracts Significantly from the Game. If you might be an Automaton which only wants to sit and watch the superficial aspect of Baseball; the hits, strikeouts, & runs, then go home and think you've seen a Ball Game, well DH ball is right up your ally. Yet Real Baseball where the nine men on the field each get their 'UPS'; the game we played as kids in our neighborhoods, and the scratch games Adults have played at City Parks. America has always been about fairness and democracy, This is exhibited in Regular Baseball, Which has reflected America’s Greatness. Everyone gets the chance to Hit. Extra Innings-No Ties (ever watched a soccer game end in a tie-BORING). Teamwork throwing the ball around. Three strikes=Out > Three outs=Side Out. Hit batter=TakeBase. Simplicity is the Rule behind the Beauty of the Sport! Personally I enjoy anticipating how any Pitcher might do at the Plate. Adding the DH into the lineup is just NOT Democratic (where did this 10th guy come from?). With the DH your Managers just might as well go to sleep (just nudge him if the game starts to get out of hand, so he can wake up and change the Pitcher ANY TIME without any repercussions). That's Superficial Baseball! Having to maybe Wait and Leave the Pitcher In because the Pitcher is due to hit next inning or the other great strategies the managers use is what makes baseball Baseball! Who pays for the ticket and other stuff, the players or the fans? I want to see the best Athletes when I buy a Ball Ticket, not has-beens, over-the-hills, that can't complete in the field anymore like the DHers, which are taking up space on the Rosters, blocking healthier Men from rising to the majors, and showing us all their brilliance. Just think if Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Bath Ruth or others would have had to wait behind someone in the minors several more years. They may have given up hope and left baseball before we ever knew them, certainly their early exploits would have been in the minors and not the Major Leagues where the spotlight shown on them. We are NOT getting the BEST Product with DH Ball! MLB-OWNERS, Please Announce to the fans that after years of experimenting with the DH, it has been determined that it adds nothing to the overall Baseball Viewing Experience, and it is being discontinued! Thank You for jointly taking this positive action for Baseball and Thank you for reading this!

Universities for Terrorists in the U.S.

It is a completely terrible idea, to bring the gitmo prisoners into our domestic prisons! Why would we want Islamic Terrorists rubbing shoulders with our own run of the mill murderers, rapists, child molesters, extortioners, etc.? I'll tell you why: When a malcontent gets near another malcontent, they team-up! That is as old as the hills and is human nature! What you'd have on your hands would be several new U.S. universities for terrorists! The majority of prisoners are looking for something new to come along, and will delve into anything. They feel a good grudge against their nation right about now. Just DO NOT Bring those that want to destroy America, into our Domestic Prisons. If they participated in a terrorist crime where innocent people were killed, then try and execute them! If there is no such evidence, then return them to the authorities of the nation where they were picked-up. Those two nations ought to have due process by now, RIGHT.

Ties the Hands of the President

  • The International Religious Freedom Act of 1998, is Unconstitutional!
  • "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"
  • In that this Act of Congress acknowledges and recognizes the various Religions of the world and requires Action to be taken in support of them, which causes it to supersede the First Amendment itself.
  • The First Amendment is the Finale Authority and nothing can be 'added' to it in American Law!
  • I am one who is an outspoken advocate of Religious Freedom in the U.S. and as a universal freedom.
  • However this law has tied the hands of our Presidents with red-tape, administrative legalese, tedious time consuming drudgery. Whereby, it has achieved the opposite desired effect on the state of Religious Liberty in our world. When one is forced to perform a task, one's enthusiasm in it wands considerably. The law is impotent anyway, as it requires after all the paperwork for the President to do nothing about any situation if he desires. We elect our Presidents to enforce our vision of Freedom to the remainder of the World. No additional laws are needed. If they don't we elect a new one!
  • A needed law however that would be Constitutional would be thus: No monies will be appropriated to wars or foreign policy ventures where OUR 'First Amendment' Principles are not being, with all diligence delegated forthwith unto and upon the Citizens of foreign lands! (This would not mention religion explicitly and so have no adverse effect over it).

Spending is the New Dope

Our Nation, the United States of America has acquired a deadly addiction. In part due to our broken political/election system, where the highest bidder can obtain our elected offices. The addiction which is characterized like a heroine addict going on a final orgy of sticking needle after needle in her arm and the fatal overdose only moments away. Our Congress and President's addiction is SPENDING!

Read The Law

What confusion over a Law-Breaker. That is Blagojevich! His temporary choice for Senator, Roland Burris must not be allowed to remain seated in the Senate. He is completely tainted, regardless of his abilities pro or con. The U.S. Constitution (XVII Amendment) requires that a Governor call for special elections that are to be arranged by the state legislature to fill the vacancy. Blagojevich has broken the law in this manner, by not issuing writs of election (and why would he when he wanted to make money off an appointee). Also, according to this Amendment his appointment of Burris is only temporary until the special election is to be held!!(e.g., held along with the Illinois municipal-elections) However, (being only appointed not elected by the People) according to Article 1 Section 5 of the Constitution the Senate may expel a member with a two-thirds vote, being a judge of the qualifications of it's own members. The real bone-head was the Judge that let Blagojevich out of jail after he had been arrested by the Feds, which allowed him to remain in Office and temporarily appoint Mr. Burris.
